With only two spots available in the 2009 MLS playoffs one would think the picture would be crystal clear for FC Dallas. Fact of the matter is there are six teams still fighting it out for those spots. With Colorado sitting on 40 points, they have an edge at the moment. After closed practices all week, FC Dallas came out with intensity required in a must win game. They delivered a very strong performance in beating Colorado 2-1 at Pizza Hut Park Saturday night. “I thought Dallas played extremely well and the only saving grace for us is that we didn’t get embarrassed,” Rapids coach Gary Smith said. “They forced the issue, they made the game quick. In facing the Colorado Rapids tomorrow night there is just one thing to do for FC Dallas, JUST WIN BABY! Thanks Al Davis. FC Dallas is the hottest team in MLS. What a game! 3-2 United States over Honduras on Saturday night in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Two goals from Conor Casey (the guy that's clipping at Cunningham's heels for the Golden Boot) and a brilliant free kick from Landon Donovan gave the US the win it needed to claim it's sixth consecutive World Cup birth. Wow! What a victory for FC Dallas on Wednesday night. David Ferreira was class again registering a goal and an assist in the 2-1 win over San Jose. The players showed trmendous character, and fight throughout the night. How about Jair Benitez clearing one off the line at the end to preserve the win? One of the great stories emerging from FC Dallas is their unwillingness to just go away. It could be said that no team in the league wants to play Dallas. It was a great night for FC Dallas last Saturday against Real Salt Lake. Jeff Cunningham and David Ferreira continued their scoring touch with 3 goals between the pair. Cunningham now moves into a tie with Conor Casey for the Golden Boot award with 15 goals on the season. The last time these two teams faced off it was a match for the history books. FCD 6 - KC- o. It was the single greatest margin of victory in history for a Dallas team against any opponent. Hello all. Did you all watch the DC United and Seattle battle for the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup on Wednesday night? What was Wicks doing? Talk about a guy that has had a tough week. It started in Chicago with an on field confrontation with teammate Marc Burch, and finished with a bizarre step on Sounders striker Freddy Montero. Good response from the team on Saturday. The game began a lot like I thought it would. Lots of emotion from TFC, and their fans. The team weathered it for the most part.
